Coffee Phix Cafe Local Artist Showcase At Coffee Phix Café, we are proud to support local artists by exhibiting their work on a rotating basis at the café. We will feature a new artist each month. All art is available for purchase if designated by the artist, and will be exhibited at the café for approximately 27 days.
We believe this to be an exciting model of art support and distribution. It is keeping with the cities efforts under the Storefront Art Initiative Project, to give local artists, students and others, an opportunity to showcase their artwork, and in this case in one of South Euclid's most community based businesses. For the café, it allows us to provide an already welcoming environment, an ambiance and culture that is pleasing to the eye of the customer.
Artists interested in participating in our Local Artists Showcase please contact us via this site or email . For those artists who choose to sell artworks, The Coffee Phix Cafe will be allocated 20% of each item sold.
We are excited to welcome Artist Kris Platko to the Phix. Kris' exhibit will be on display throughout the month of June. Her pieces consist of acrylic and mixed media. Come check her out this June.
Kris Platko I am a visual artis. Although I've lived all over, I have been in Lyndhurst, on Cleveland's east side, for 16 years and openly call it home. I have a somewhat irrelevant BFA in Interior Design from the University of Central Missouri, where I also discovered the pleasures of painting and figure drawing. I'm currently painting on recycled blue jeans that I cut apart and sew back together, stretching them over frames or otherwise leaving them to hang as "pelts". To me, the jeans represent hard work, old friends and rebellion. They have longevity and bad-ass appeal. Also, I like recycling something, giving it a second life, being a part of the solution, so to speak.
